On 26 September 2025, the DeepLandS project took part in the European Researchers’ Night at the Science Bazaar in Center Rog, organised within the Humanistika project of the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana.
At the project’s interactive corner, “After the Ashes: A Story of a Place,” teens were invited to imagine how communities rebuild after wildfires. Using an unfinished story set in a devastated fictional landscape, visitors had an opportunity to think about creating their own endings – through writing, drawing, or a combination of both. The activity encouraged reflection on empathy, resilience, and solidarity while raising awareness about disaster preparedness and climate anxiety. It also opened space for brief ethical discussions on the role of AI in crisis contexts.
